FAQs
What is Complementary Therapy?
Complementary Therapy is not an alternative to medical advice, and as a Complementary Therapist I will always respect and work alongside any advice given to you by your medical practitioner. Treatments are holistic, working on the whole person in mind, body and spirit, and can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from children through to the elderly. The whole person is supported rather than treating a particular illness or condition. We treat people, not conditions! It is said that 75% of patients visiting their GP surgery are suffering with stress or stress-related illnesses, so there is great benefit to be gained by pursuing deep relaxation in the form of therapies such as Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and Reiki. As your mind and body relaxes, you may feel a sense of well-being and balance, which can have a beneficial effect in many ways. But each individual person will experience their own benefits, as we are all individuals. A full consultation is an integral part of any initial treatment, to ensure the treatment is appropriate for you, and also that it is tailored specifically for you, so I always allow extra time for this within your appointment. Professionally qualified and accredited therapists never diagnose or claim to cure, and would always refer you to your GP if appropriate.
What areas do you cover as a mobile therapist?
I work on a mobile basis in Caterham and the surrounding areas of Coulsdon, Chaldon, Merstham, Woldingham, Warlingham, Redhill, Sanderstead, Selsdon, Godstone and Bletchingley - all within an 5 mile radius but I can sometimes travel further afield if you're happy to pay an additional charge.
What can I expect during a reflexology treatment?
I will bring everything I need with me; reflexology chair or couch, towels, and a chair for me to sit on! All you will need to do is make sure your room is warm and comfortable, and you are welcome to play some relaxing music if you wish. Reclining in my comfortable chair you will remain fully clothed, although I will need to access your lower legs so tight jeans might not be the best choice!
Please ensure I can park as close as possible to your home, as I have a lot to carry!
What can I expect during a Reiki treatment?
I will bring my couch, towels and my heated blanket (during cooler months) for you to lie on. You may like to provide a blanket to keep you cozy! All you need to do is make sure your room is warm, peaceful and comfortable, and you are welcome to play some relaxing music if you wish.
How should I pay for my treatment?
Payment can be made in cash, or by bank transfer. I can also accept cheques. Payment is due on the day of the appointment, and sometimes in advance. Please note I do not accept card payments.
What is your cancellation policy?
I will text or email you the day before your appointment to remind you of the date and time of my arrival.
Should you need to cancel your appointment, at least 24 hours notice should be given, to avoid paying the full treatment fee. This applies to gift voucher holders also (see below).
Any cancellations or changes should be made by telephone call or text, as an email may not be picked up in time.
If I arrive at your home and you are not available, the full treatment fee will be payable. If you are not ready for your appointment at the time of my arrival, your treatment time may need to be reduced to avoid my subsequent appointments running late.
I reserve the right to ask for payment in advance for any future bookings if you have made a number of late cancellations.
I do of course understand that emergencies happen, and will always try to work with you in this event.
Please understand that like many therapists, I am self employed, so that a late cancellation means a loss of income which cannot be recovered unless I have adequate time to fill your booking slot with another client who may be waiting for an available slot.
Are there any reflexology techniques I can use at home between treatments?
